'Tis the Season
Apologies for the lack of newsletters over the past week-plus — though maybe you are just now realizing there have not been many sent. Either way, expect a more consistent flow now.
To keep you up to speed, I have been on deadline for the 2021 Lindy’s Sports College Football Annual. This year’s marks the fifth edition in which I have contributed both team and conference previews, and is the third in which I wrote a feature story.
Look for that on newsstands in early June, along with the Athlon Sports preview that features my Q&A with Georgia quarterback JT Daniels.
I’m not here to take a victory lap — I did that in 2019 on my Patreon, recounting my pathetic senior year of high school, my aspirations to become a full-time magazine writer just before the utter collapse of the industry, and the gratification (if not validation) I get from contributing to print publications. Oh, I also take a swipe at a former SB Nation/Sports Illustrated personality with far more reach and clout than I, if that piques your interest.
But I’m also not writing this update to plug — even if I do enjoy a good, cheap, Mick Foley-esque bit of self-promotion.
No, today’s edition is to simply keep your apprised of what’s up, and a look at some of what’s to come. The Friday lists make a return this week, and I have two separate FCS columns planned.
I’ll also have some basketball content, as well. The Press Break is making up for lost time, and we (first-person plural sounds more big-time) appreciate your patience.
