College Basketball 101: No. 99 Is One Of The Game's Biggest What-Ifs
A factoid you will undoubtedly hear or read at some point in the 2023-24 college basketball season (and any season thereafter, depending how this next March Madness goes) is that the Big Ten hasn’t won a national championship since 2000.
If not for a late-season injury that No. 99 on The College Basketball 101 suffered, there are no shortage of those who will argue that the Big Ten’s drought would extend to the 20th Century, all the way back to 1989. And, to be perfectly honest, I just might be one such person.
